A Sonnet Looking for Something

Not all who pray, and not all
who will not pray, find peace.
And the point is to find peace.
Not all who praise, and not all

who do not praise, find joy.
And the point is to find joy.
Not all who smile are happy.
Not all who weep are in mourning.

Not all who sing and not all who are silent
and not all who sleep with their cats,
and not all who sleep with their love
and not all who hope without reason,

know what to hope or love for. And the point
is to love and hope for something.
